I’m A Dead Language!

Filed under: blogthings, self-absorption — Peaceful Me @ 11:56 am

I am Linear B. Even those who can follow me think I’m all Greek to them. Which, after all, is true - Linear B being the first known text for written Greek. To most people, I am incomprehensible. But what do I care? I’m tough, hard, long-enduring and have greater nobility than most. Naturally, I don’t admit to borrowing extensively from my brother Linear A.

FYI: About Comment Moderation

Filed under: blogging, blogthings — Peaceful Me @ 5:35 pm

If you use comment moderation like I do, you will no longer need to have the word verification system on since you will have to approve all comments for publishing. You won’t have to publish those icky spam comments, and the people trying to post real comments won’t get tangled up with the word verification. I notice that I often have to redo the verification 4-5 times before my comment will post. Hope this helps!

Tagged: 6 — count ‘em 6 — weird things

Filed under: blogthings, self-absorption — Peaceful Me @ 3:25 am

Here are the rules: Each player of this game starts with the “6 Weird Things about You.” People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says ‘you are tagged’ in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

So six weird things about me…

1. Each time my daughter has been pregnant I learned about it first in a dream and announced it to her.

2. I have always wanted a pet pig like my Dad had when he was growing up.

3. I have a major crush on Jungle Jack Hannah and even have his picture on my desk at uni.

4. I love trash TV — especially reality shows; the trashier the reality, the better!

5. I have seen Jinn on several occasions — in three of my homes and once on vacation in Belize.

6. I have a strange curly white hair that grows between my eyebrows if I am not careful to pluck.

I tag:

1. Qatar Cat
2. Honorary Arab
3. Maleha
4. Beautiful Amygdala
5. Hasnah
6. Relief

I Have To Post These Quiz Results With Pride:

Your ‘Do You Want the Terrorists to Win’ Score: 100%

You are a terrorist-loving, Bush-bashing, “blame America first”-crowd traitor. You are in league with evil-doers who hate our freedoms. By all counts you are a liberal, and as such cleary desire the terrorists to succeed and impose their harsh theocratic restrictions on us all. You are fit to be hung for treason! Luckily George Bush is tapping your internet connection and is now aware of your thought-crime. Have a nice day…. in Guantanamo!

Do You Want the Terrorists to Win?

Not Bad For An Art Historian, Eh?

You Are Modernism

You tend to be oriented toward the future and technology.
You like art that signals how the world might change in radical ways.
As far as art goes, everything in the past is obsolete - and it’s time to carve a new path.
You prefer art that doesn’t follow any rules - even if the art doesn’t make much sense.

Do You Love Movies Like I Love Movies

Filed under: blogthings, film — Peaceful Me @ 6:47 pm
Your Movie Buff Quotient: 86%

You are a movie buff of the most obsessive variety. If a movie exists, chances are that you’ve seen it.
You’re an expert on movie facts and trivia. It’s hard to stump you with a question about film.

This is so right on for me. I actually keep Leonard Maltin’s Movie Guide on my PDA!

You’ve done a good job changing with the times, but deep down, you’re still the same person.
You’re clothes, job, and friends may have changed some - but it hasn’t changed you.

This Is Your Brain:

Your Brain’s Pattern

Structured and organized, you have a knack for thinking clearly.
You are very logical - and you don’t let your thoughts get polluted with emotions.
And while your thoughts are pretty serious, they’re anything from boring.
It’s minds like yours that have built the great cities of the world!

Remember those old PSAs “This is your brain on drugs”? Well this is my brain without the drugs, so imagine what it would have been like in the 70s… LOL!

I think it would have been more like this:

Your Brain’s Pattern

Your mind is a creative hotbed of artistic talent.
You’re always making pictures in your mind, especially when you’re bored.
You are easily inspired to think colorful, interesting thoughts.
And although it may be hard to express these thoughts, it won’t always be.

I Had To Snag This From UmmAbdur-Rahmaan

What Your Soul Really Looks Like

You are quite expressive and thoughtful. You see the world in a way that others are blind to.

You are a grounded person, but you also leave room for imagination and dreams. You feet may be on the ground, but you’re head is in the clouds.

You see yourself with pretty objective eyes. How you view yourself is almost exactly how other people view you.

Your near future is calm, relaxing, and pretty much what you want. And it’s something you’ve been anticipating for a while now.

For you, falling in love is all about the adventure and uncertainty. You can only fall in love with someone who keeps you guessing.
