The Saddam Death Watch

Saddam Hussein’s execution seems imminent and it bring with it some reflection. Somehow it doesn’t seem possible that the end of his era has come. While I don’t agree with the American war on Iraq, I can’t feel sorry that he has had to be accountable for his actions. I just wish every leader had to be accountable for the death and destruction they bring into their people’s lives.
Most of all it makes me wonder if it will provide any peace and closure for the Iraqi people. Allahu alim.

These Boots Are Made For Walkin’
These boots — in black — are just the ticket to strut into my new life. My maid and I went shopping today and caught them on sale at Dune. They are comfy, smart and sexy — perfect for my new confident walk!
After that, we stopped at Starbucks. I love it when they get the winter holiday drinks in. I had to splurge on the calories and had a Toffeenut Latte. My maid is a strictly Mocha Frap gal – even in the cold weather. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
A stop at the grocery store yielded fresh veggies and fruit. Tomorrow I start the new regime to lose some of this depression weight and get healthier, insha’allah.
Our outing wrapped up with a stop at Lush. If you live in the US and don’t have a Lush near you, they are a wonderful shop that sells handmade organic cosmetics and bath goodies. I stocked up on some meltaways for the tub and some rich bath gels. I have some new lemongrass incense I want to try out and just got new candles for the bathroom. Al hamdulillah for a full-length bathtub!

FYI: About Comment Moderation
If you use comment moderation like I do, you will no longer need to have the word verification system on since you will have to approve all comments for publishing. You won’t have to publish those icky spam comments, and the people trying to post real comments won’t get tangled up with the word verification. I notice that I often have to redo the verification 4-5 times before my comment will post. Hope this helps!
